Blue Boot Rodeo in memory of Riley Bourgeois
July 12 – 13, 2009 @ Sand Dollar Marina in Grand Isle at the Tarpon Pavilion
The blue boot rodeo is a fishing rodeo geared towards driving awareness to childhood drowning as we celebrate the life of Riley John Bourgeois (and of course his Blue Boots!)
Unfortunately, unintentional drowning is the number 1 cause of death from injury in children ages 1-4. Three children die everyday from drowning but there are steps that can be taken to help prevent such a tragedy.
The Blue Boot Rodeo will be an annual event for everyone to enjoy as we help do our part to drive awareness to drowning prevention. Proceeds from the rodeo will go towards educating our elementary school students and parents on drowning prevention as well as scholarships to our high school seniors in the local area.
