Committees

The Chamber serves as a catalyst to organize and direct the energies of those who believe that a community worth living in is a community worth investing in to make it better.

The Chamber is made up of the following volunteer committees:

  • Events & Membership
  • Finance & Investment
  • Governmental Affairs/Economic Development

These committees evaluate the Chamber’s past efforts and formulate new ideas/programs that will improve or enhance the quality of the services and events offered. Internal planning and development of each phase of the annual program of work is performed by volunteer coalitions under the direction of the Chamber Staff.

Finance & Investment Committee:

Finance & Investment Chair: Jack Plaisance

The Finance & Investment Committee provides financial oversight and guidance to help ensure the long-term fiscal health and sustainability of the Lafourche Chamber of Commerce. Working closely with Chamber leadership and the Board of Directors, the committee reviews financial performance, assists with budget development, monitors investments and reserves, and promotes sound financial stewardship. Through careful planning and responsible management, the committee helps position the Chamber to continue serving its members, supporting local businesses, and strengthening the economic vitality of Lafourche Parish for years to come.

Events & Membership Committee

Events & Marketing Chair: Chad Doucet

The Events & Membership Committee promotes and maintains enthusiasm and leadership in strengthening The Chamber’s ability to build a better community.  The committee also increases, coordinates and maintains a strong membership in order to provide a sound financial base for the organization. The Events & Membership Committee is responsible for planning and executing The Chamber’s special events throughout the year.

Governmental Affairs/Economic Development Committee: 

Governmental Affairs/Economic Chair:  Kristi Lumpkin

The Governmental Affairs and Economic Development Committee fosters positive relations between governmental entities/officials that promotes and supports business climate through the enhancement of personal relationships between the Chamber and business community. The governmental affairs portion also monitors federal, state and local issues that are directly relative to the interest of the Chamber membership. The economic development portion also helps develop an environment that will attract new businesses, industrial growth and expansion opportunities for businesses within the region.
